Zinc’s physical properties make it a great choice when you want gutters that last.  When zinc comes in contact with moisture and carbon dioxide, it forms a zinc-carbonate layer.  With this property, zinc is known to last nearly a lifetime.  As the patina develops, it also covers imperfections or scratches.

Zinc is completely recyclable.  It is also a fungistat, which means it prohibits the reproduction of fungus, mold, and mildew.  It’s presence helps reduce the risk of such pesky intruders.  A fungistat is not a fungicide, which kills fungus.  This means that zinc is safe to use around vegetation and will not irritate the growth of plants.
