Seamless Vs. Traditional Downspouts
Seamless offers many benefits over choosing a traditional, seamed system. Here are 5 reasons to go with seamless gutters:
- Lower maintenance- Downspouts with joints and seams are accumulate debris, water, and ice. This can lead to blockages and infestations of bugs, plants or birds. Seamless downspouts are fixed and have much less places to clog or accumulate. That means they need much less maintenance compared to the traditional, sectioned spouts.
- Variety- Ornametals sells copper and zinc gutter systems. Other companies sell seamless in other materials as well, though such metals are less sustainable. However, our zinc comes in three varieties, natural (shiny gray), quartz (dull gray), and anthra (black).
- Limited leaks- Seamless downspouts have less joints and fasteners.. Due to the absence of joints and seals that can erode or gather debris, seamless offers far better protection to the property. A crimped seam on the back of a downspout can expand. Water and air can enter where it is crimped together and ice has been known to actually pry open holes on the seams.
- Exact measurements- Seamless gutters are made to measure, and fit your building perfectly, which requires installation by professionals. This ensures that the gutters serve you through years without requiring maintenance, and offer best possible protection to the structure.
- Higher rate of return- You technically have to spend a larger amount on the gutter system initially, but due to lower maintenance and longer lifespan, you spend much less money over a few decades
